Try reading for 20 minutes a day, and see where you are in a month. Yet, you don’t need to dedicate massive hours to the effort. Most people say they don’t have the time to read. In a little more time, you could even earn a new degree or start a new career. You could acquire a new skill, or get a certification. If you invest 20 minutes each day, imagine what you could learn in a few short months. If you want to learn on-the-go, you could listen to a podcast. You could even read 20 brief articles on Wikipedia. I recommend an ebook, an online course, or even an educational website. Instead, you need to read something instructive or developmental. I would even argue that news sites do not count in this endeavor. It’s not about Facebook, TMZ, or Buzzfeed.

To be clear, reading 20 minutes a day is not about surfing the internet. “Reading a book for 20 minutes each and every day can change your life.” Other days, you might get so engrossed that you learn for longer. Some days you may only get your 20 minutes done. By reading for 20 minutes each day you can keep a learning pace that will build over time. Other things are timeless, but still need to be learned. Yet, as daunting as it may sound that you must always be learning, you don’t need to spend an inordinate amount of time.ĭon’t underestimate the power of even a few minutes each day. Things that we are learning today didn’t exist even a few years ago. In our fast-paced world, you need to always be learning. Stats say that more than 30% of the population never reads another book again their schooling ends. However, you do have the time, and you don’t have to spend a lot of it to fit reading into your day. Your quick excuse is probably that you don’t have time to read. (Which are often the same things these days.) But, a real book intended to teach you something.
